Rodney’s Oyster House

469 King St W, Toronto, ON
(Spadina & King)
(416) 363-8105

Rodney’s is “the place” I’d recommend for raw oysters. It’s not just the oyster experience that’s fun but the food, sauces, beer and photos (on the bathroom wall) are worth exploring.

I usually start with an oyster platter of various selections (usually 2-3 per person). The server is usually very well versed in this area. If there is something I really like, I’d reorder it for the second round of oysters. Then I’d go with the hot menu items e.g. chowder, catch of the day, etc. (Don’t forget to ask what beers are available. They offer some selection not available elsewhere!)

• Oysters – don’t forget to try the variety of sauces and freshly grated horseradish. Some I like are:
Pacific Oysters (generally)
Kusshi-Stellar Bay, Bourne, BC
Kumamoto-North Bay Puget Sound
Buckley Bay and Ship Point, BC
Osprey Point, PEI
• Chowder – comes with a small pack of yummy crackers
• Cherry Stone Clams
• Various beers they offer

Good to Know
• Best seats: No preference
• Service: Generally great
• Atmosphere: boat or sea-themed with nets, wood, fish tanks, etc
• Ideal for: Business, date, family
• Attire: Smart casual
• Reservations recommended: Yes
• Patio recommended: No
